Linton Park’s legacy started in 1699 as the farm De Slange Rivier, a history reflected by the Cape Dutch manor house that was built in 1809. The original farm was named for the water course translated from Afrikaans as Snake River, which still flows. The majestic Groenberg Mountain presides over Linton Park Wine Estate, which was purchased by UK-based multinational Camellia Plc in 1995. The total property comprises 294ha of which less than half is planted to vine. A portion is also dedicated to olives.
