Former UK advertising and media executive David Croft teamed up with friend and colleague Andy Bartholomew to rally shareholders and acquire Andreas Wine Estate in Wellington's Bovlei Valley in 2015. The 13.5ha had 4.5 under vine; a Cape Dutch building dating back to 1799; and, a reputation for its Shiraz. Among one of the first Huguenot settlements in the valley, the property was overhauled and now features four-star luxury accommodation in its historic buildings too. Visits and tastings are by appointment only.
