Vergenoegd Wine Estate

Stellenbosch Wine Routes

The land home to Vergenoeg was first granted in 1696 and had been in the Faure family since 1820 until it was acquired in 2015 by German businessman Dr Peter Löw of the LIVIA investment company. Located in the Faure region, Vergenoegd is known for its red wines. Its vineyards cover 160ha. The name of the farm is derived from the Dutch meaning “contented”. Apart from its wines, the estate's use of Indian Runner ducks as part of their pest control program have brought it fame too.
