Steenberg Vineyards

Constantia Wine Route

The Cape’s first farm, established in 1682, has come a long way from its humble beginnings. Roughly 30 minutes from the city, Steenberg Hotel & Spa has two signature restaurants, an 18-hole golf course and is a destination steeped in heritage. The winery is known for its Sauvignon Blanc and MCC sparkling wines. There are 59.5ha under vine of which 70% is white: Sauvignon Blanc (64% of total plantings) and Semillon. The red varieties are Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. The farm is also one of only a handful in the Cape to have invested in the red Italian variety Nebbiolo.
