Swartland Wine & Olive Route
Conference and events Venue, Accommodation Available
Franki's Vineyards is a boutique winery and guest lodge in the Swartland. It is a pioneering venture in more ways than one. Property owner Franco Afrique Technologies (FAT) was among the first companies selected in 2015 to develop a commercial Solar Photovoltaic Farm in South Africa. The winemaking too has embraced Grenache, Viognier and Mourvèdre as its favoured varieties, plus it makes use of the uncommon goblet-style vine trellising method. The old farmhouse has been renovated over the years and now serves as a guesthouse.
White and Dessert Wines
Franki’s Guest Lodge is situated in the heart of the Swartland, between the towns of Malmesbury and Darling, on the R45 Hopefield Road. Magnificent views from Franki’s Guest Lodge include a stretch of vineyards and in the distance the beauty of the Ceres Mountains. The Guest Lodge is a renovation of the old original farm house and has elements of old and new. There are ten bedrooms, all en-suite and tastefully decorated with modern finishes. All the rooms have air conditioning, with DSTV in the loung area.
