Bellpost is a wine cellar on the West Coast, between Vredendal and Lutzville. The name is a combination of two farm names, Bellevue and Buitepos. Owned by the Thiart family, it produces wine from grapes grown on the farm in small batches. Father Lollies and brother Nico are responsible for the vineyards; brother Koos for the winemaking; and, brother Danie started doing the marketing, when he still played rugby for the Blue Bulls. Production is small, with 15 000 bottles of wine produced annually and a range consisting of a Chardonnay, Chardonnay-base blend, Merlot, Ruby Cabernet and Shiraz. Its first vintage was produced in 2005.
