Situated between the Breede River and foothills of the Langeberg mountains, Ashton Winery was established as a co-operative in 1962. Today, it has some 50 grape producer shareholders who supply 27 grape varieties and enable the production of a range of wines to suit occasions, palates and lifestyles. The grape intake normally amounts to around 20 000 tons, making it one of the bigger co-operative cellars in the Western Cape that operates under one roof. In addition to wines, Ashton Winery produces large volumes of grape juice concentrate.
