Swartland Winery is situated just outside of the bustling country town Malmesbury, an area rich in vines and one of the bread baskets of South Africa. Now one of the top wineries in South Africa, Swartland Winery started producing wine from 15 member farms in 1948 and, within two years, 48 member farmers were supplying 2500 tons of grapes annually.
Today, 69 years later, Swartland Winery produces approximately 23,000 tons of grapes per year and exports around 40% of our product to more than 45 countries and we are one of the top 10 wine exporters in South Africa. Worldwide the Swartland style of wine is well accepted and the winery aims to increase our market share by continuing to ensure that the quality and consistency of the products are maintained and improved year on year.
Our award-winning premium wines are produced in a separate smaller cellar, within our winery to ensure that it receives the attention premium wines deserve. Swartland Winery has dedicated Winemakers, a Viticulturist and an on-site laboratory to monitor quality throughout the winemaking processes. We also have our own state of the art bottling facility for bottled and bag-in-a-box products. By obtaining BRC and ISO 9001 certification we want to ensure our clients that quality and consistency always come first.
Swartland Winery hosts a basket of products, which includes various brands for the different market segments and price points. We use these brands to create a specific portfolio for our clients to enable them to reach their target market, whilst keeping control over our brand image.
