Lammershoek

The name Lammershoek dates back more than three centuries, linked to the preservation of life in a harsh environment.  Afrikaans for 'lambs’ corner', legend tells of ewes sheltering here to protect their lambs from birds of prey.  The original flock of sheep owned by the first registered owner of Lammershoek in the early 1700s grew to a proud enterprise where mixed stock farming has been replaced by specialised viniculture. Fast forward nearly 3 centuries, viniculture remains the focal point of Lammershoek today.  Registered as an estate in 2024, Lammershoek strives to become one of the front runners in viniculture in South Africa, producing wines with a sense of place for the next 3 centuries and beyond.
