Deetlefs Wine Estate borders on the Smalblaar River at the foot of the Dutoitskloof Mountains and was established in 1822. It lays claim to be the country's second-oldest wine estate under ownership of the same family and specialises in Chenin Blanc and Pinotage. There are 100ha under vine with grapes vinified in a cellar that has a capacity of 1.8 million litres. The latter combines the latest in technology and know-how accumulated over generations. The Deetlefs group also incorporates its own laboratory and bottling plant.
