Anthonij Rupert Wyne

Anthonij Rupert Wyne was founded on the farm, L’Ormarins in Franschhoek. Originally owned by the late Anthonij Rupert who passed away in 2001, the farm was eventually taken over by his brother, Johann, in 2003 and the brand named after him. It was Johann Rupert who constructed a state-of-the-art winemaking facility, which is part of a portfolio of farms that includes Rooderust in Darling, Riebeeksrivier in the Swartland and Altima in Elandskloof. Visitors to Anthonij Rupert Wyne often have two reasons for visiting: the wines and the Motor Museum, an exceptional collection of modern and vintage vehicles.

The Terra del Capo Tasting Room, located at the property’s entrance, was created to showcase the Italian-inspired Terra del Capo range. The tasting room has a mezzanine tasting lounge with views of the estate and the bottling line, so you can see some of the cellar action. Tastings are presented in a relaxed interactive style, with multiple tasting options and pairings featuring Protea, Terra del Capo, and L’Ormarins wine ranges. The focal point of the mezzanine-level tasting room is a spacious counter for formal tastings, while intimate lounge areas on either side of this are ideal for wine tasting in a more leisurely, conversational style. Wine tasting in this elegant setting is a relaxed and indulgent experience. Below the tasting room is an antipasti bar, perfect for a quick lunch of freshly prepared local ingredients.

The Anthonij Rupert Tasting Room is housed in the historic and renovated Manor House on the farm. Tailored wine tastings of our L’Ormarins, Cape of Good Hope, and Anthonij Rupert wine ranges are offered here. The house is furnished throughout in the mid-nineteenth century Cape Dutch style, with beautiful wood beam ceilings, yellowwood floors, and spacious entertainment areas. A beautiful collection of period art depicting the Cape’s landscape in the mid-nineteenth century adorns the walls, while the rooms are tastefully furnished with carefully sourced antique pieces. The front rooms open onto a veranda with stunning views of the Franschhoek Wine Valley, while the back porch overlooks a rose garden and the Groot Drakenstein Mountains.
