Pongrácz is one of South Africa's finest Méthode Cap Classiques and is made in the traditional French method of allowing secondary fermentation to take place in the bottle. The range is inspired by Desiderius Pongrácz, a nobleman and refugee from the Hungarian uprising who revolutionised viticulture in the Cape. He was amongst other, instrumental in introducing the classic Champagne varietals Chardonnay and Pinot Noir to the Cape Winelands and today the range pays tribute to his bold tenacity, innovation and unwavering spirit.
