Dragonridge winery on Fynbos Estate in the Swartland shares its Paardeberg location between 15ha of vineyards and 270ha of nature reserve. There are also some 2ha of olive trees and a lemon tree orchard. One of the outcrops on the farm resembles a sleeping dragon, hence the name. The farm produces between 20 and 40 tonnes of organic grapes each year. Dragonridge makes wines from unirrigated vineyards that are pruned and suckered to produce small yields of grapes in pursuit of concentrated flavours. Fynbos Estate offers comfortable farm-style accommodation in 3 houses and 2 cottages and can accommodate up to 42 people sharing. Houses and cottages can be booked individually or the entire farm can be reserved. Fynbos is ideal for holiday accommodation, weekend breaks, weddings, workshops and retreats.
